A Bit of My Journey

Change and recapitulation are part of my tradition, but that doesn’t make them easy. I first met God in the backseat of an Audi and later in the Black church—spaces where grace came without strings. At the age of 17, I entered evangelical Christianity. Years later, the killing of Trayvon Martin unraveled what I thought I knew about God, justice, and community. Leaving the ministry I was part of—and the “white Jesus” I was handed—was the start of a deeper, freer faith. Along the way, I became certified in religious trauma, embraced my queerness, left an abusive marriage, remarried, and began again.

And if I could do it, anyone can.

Hey,

I’m so glad you’ve reached out about working together. Spiritual direction and coaching with me is all about creating an intentional, soul-centered space where you can explore, heal, and transform—on your terms.

What We’re Working Toward

My goal is for you to:

  • Recover yourself and your agency

  • Find the divine within

  • Reclaim what you love from your traditions without the baggage of harmful frameworks

We’ll work within your tradition, not mine, creating a spirituality that is liberating, embodied, and true.

My Coaching Style

I use life and culture—hip-hop lyrics, documentaries, and films—as sacred texts to help us explore your questions. Every now and then, I’ll add a bit of salt from the Hebrew Scriptures or New Testament, but they won’t be the whole meal. Our work together might involve a personalized curriculum, regular one-on-one sessions, or focused support through a specific challenge.

I’m not a therapist (though my spouse is—happy to connect you if that’s what’s needed). I think of myself as a mirror, here to help you see yourself more clearly and get unstuck.
